More Layouts

I have been rushing to finish my work but I wanted to pop in here quickly just to share what I've made recently. The first layout featured the May's Studio Calico kit, 35mm. I have seen arrows everywhere and I love it. So I incorporated arrows onto my layout and still love it!

In case you wonder why my titles are crooked, I will tell you to blame it on my photography skill. I had spend hours to get the picture right but always ended up with crooked picture. It's frustrating and I give up on picture perfect. Anyone has any tip on photographing layout, please do share it with me. I needed one so badly!

I have not one but two layouts to share today. I love chevron!! Can you tell? Lol :)

"Heart" That Smile

Apparently yellow has taken the spot of being my current favorite color. Yes, I've seen yellow everywhere and I even wanting to fill my wardrobe with this sunshine-y color. Coming from a girl who only wore neutral color clothing sounds surprising right? I was contemplating whether to use the yellow chevron paper by Amy Tangerine because it's the only yellow chevron I've had in my stash and it is too precious. I figured if only use a small piece, I could still save the rest :) So I went ahead and create a layout inspired by my favorite color. After I uploaded the picture from my camera only I noticed something is missing........journaling. How forgetful I am!

Abby was barely five days old when I took this picture and already she knows how to melt her mama's heart with her warm smile. Love her to bits!

Smile Baby

This little baby smiles a lot these days and it makes her mama very happy. Her eyes light up so beautifully when she smile and I look forward to going home everyday just so I can cuddle my baby again. I take pictures of her almost every day because she seems to grow too fast! I want to capture all these special moments of her and being able to reminisce them for many years to come.

What's New - @13th weeks:
- she's always happy and smiling
- she only cries when she's tired or hungry
- enjoy her playtime before goes to bed
- wake up smiling at her mama every morning
- knows how to roll to her side and onto her belly
- try to lifts up her head when lying down
- loves watching tv
- choose to bite her hands over a pacifier
- she's very active and kicks a lot.....she kicked me a few times in the stomach and boy it does hurt....lol.

I know I've said it before but I want to say it again....being a mom is wonderful!

I Made A Card!

I have been so busy both at work and at home but I managed to sneak in some time for crafting. So, I made a card :) It's been too long since I make any cards. I thought I was going to give up this wonderful hobby after having a baby but I guess NOT. Once a crafter, forever a crafter :)

You Are My Little Lady

When I was pregnant, I took a long break from crafting and most of my creative acts were put on hold but now I jumped back on the band wagon. It felt so good to create again! So here's a first simple layout I did of my daughter. She was 10 weeks old when this picture was taken and now she's almost 12 weeks old. Time flown and it feels just like it was only yesterday that we took her back from the hospital. When I look at this picture, she has grown so much and so fast. She smiles a lot these days and it just melts my heart! What a darling she is! I want the picture to be the main focus so I kept the design simple and embellishments to minimal.

Stay tuned as I'm working on another layout :)

Baby Abigail

Being a mother is a wonderful thing that ever happen to me and I cannot imagine life without my daughter. Two months had passed and I enjoy motherhood so much. Even when I was sleep deprived since the day she was born......I couldn't be more blessed and happy. Even when I had a rough start, I learned to be patience and as the day gone by.....I became much more confident in caring for her. All the tiredness are gone when she look at me with her big eyes and smile. It's the best thing in the world and I would not trade it for anything. No no. My baby....I love you so much!

Counting Down To Four Weeks......

It's my 36th weeks into pregnancy and I can't believe I'm going to see my baby girl soon! So far things went quite well for me and I thank God for that. I've got everything prepared for her arrival except one, her baby cot. My SIL passed down the baby cot (we bought it for her when she delivered her first child) to us and guess what, she lost the screws and we can't assemble the cot. I'll just wait till my hubby comes home next week and let him fix the problem. For now, I want to sit back and relax while patiently wait for the arrival of my   little one :)

This card was published in the October issue of CARDS magazine and it's the last card I submitted to them. This card uses my favorite collection from Crate Paper called Emma's Shoppe. Speaking of card, I haven't been making any since many months ago due to lack of inspiration. No idea why. But I do enjoy making layouts. A few weeks back, I submitted my layout to Scrapbook Trends and when I didn't hear from them, I thought it was yet another reject. Lo and behold, I received an acceptance email from them earlier this week and it caught me by surprise. Never did I expect that they will pick my layout because I wasn't lucky with my previous two submissions and it now gives me the inspiration to scrap more :)

Joyful Christmas

I know I am two days late but still, I want to wish you "Merry Chirstmas"!!! I don't have much to share today except for some Christmas presents I did for this year. It was simple, really. Simple & me = goes a long way
(wink) Be back soon!

New Found Weight

It took me forever to complete this layout. Well, two weeks to be exact and have no idea why it took me so long. Honestly, I don't mind the time I put in to finish a project as long as I enjoy the process. That's the true meaning of crafting, no? This layout uses a mix of patterned paper from Echo Park, My Mind's Eye and Girl Paperie (it's sad that Girl Paperie discontinued their business because I really love their products). I have been searching high and low for small clothespin and I finally found these at a local store. They doesn't come cheap but I don't mind a bit. My friend saw these picture of me and said I looked so much different compared to now. I was only 105 pounds then and have been underweight all my life. But now at 147 pounds, I have never felt better :) We'll see if I feel the same way after I delievered.....lol.

Yesterday morning I was greeted with a nice surprise. This card won the blog challenge by My Mind's Eye and I get to choose my own prize! Christmas came early this year....lol :)

Have a nice day my dear friends!

1212

December is one of my favorite months of the year with two simple reasons, one being my birthday and the other is Christmas. And today is my birthday :) Just like last year, there will be no celebration or party, just a simple dinner with my best friend. Hope to snap some pictures at the dinner tonight and if I do, I will share them here. Hope you like this card :)

Food & Card

As my laptop completely died on me, I took out the hard disk and temporary use it as an external hard disk until my piggy bank is filled with enough coins to get myself new laptop (hello hubby......are you reading this??? Lol....) Luckily all the saved data are safely intact and as I browsed through my old cards the other day, I realized that I have a couple of cards that I have yet to share on my blog. So here goes. The Lost & Found collection by MME is my favorite collection ever!! No doubt. I just love everything about this collection. From the color to the design. Just everything! Are you on the same boat as me? I bet you are! :)

Lately I developed a passion for cooking. Yeah, no kidding. I enjoy cooking ever since I am pregnant and sad to admit that I lost interest in card making for a while. Not sure if it has anything to do with pregnancy hormones but I definitely cook a lot more frequent than I used to. I seldom take photos of the food I made....either too lazy or too hungry to bother. But yesterday I was in the mood to snap some photos so let me share with you what I had for breakfast and dinner. For breakfast.....baby spinach omelette & tuna cheese croissant. For dinner.....spicy olio with roast vegetables, bacon & smoked sausages. As a spicy olio fan, I had spent a lot of time perfecting my recipe and I am proud to say that I succeeded yesterday (can you see I am grinning from ear to ear).

Baby Bump

I love my baby bump! Yep....love it to bits! Unfortunately, I haven't gotten around to take as much pictures as I should. I only have a few nice shots taken and the rest are taken with my camera phone where you could either see my face or the bump. Not picture perfect. So thought of sharing a picture of me and my hubby taken back in October. Where have the time gone to? It feels just like yesterday we took this picture but my growing bump tell me otherwise :) Nine more weeks to go before my life completely go haywire....lol. Hope I can brave through it all and I believe that God will give me the strength I needed :) I can't wait to see our little girl! Looking at this picture, I can't believe how much weight my husband had gained over the years! He used to be very fit and muscular but all I see now is fat....lol! I still love him anyway!

This card was published in CARDS magazine back in July. I have temporary put my submission work on hold and my last submission was for October issue. I will share the October card later. You know how much I love pastel color and was surprised that this bright yellow card turned out to be one of my favorite after all. Sometimes it is good to step out of your comfort zone because you will never know what to expect. And who knows you  might get a little surprise too :)

I will see you soon....hopefully with a card or a layout *wink*.

God gave me you!

I have been keeping this news from you all and think it's time to announce it here. It's a bit late but they said "better be late than never", right? So yea....I'm PREGNANT!! This is my 29th weeks and I'm due in early February. We are pretty excited of having a baby girl in our life! Before, I wasn't ready to be a mom but as soon as we found out that I was pregnant everything changed. Not only I'm more than ready to be a mom, I strive to be a good one. It's easy said than done (I know) but I'm going to try my best. We got almost everything we needed to welcome our baby girl but there are still some stuff that need to be taken care of. If you have any useful tips for this new mother, please do share it here :) I truly appreciate it.

While I don't have many photos taken of me being pregnant and Jessy (and her husband too) was sweet enough to snap a few for me when I visited her last month. She even scrapped about us.....go check out her blog if you may. Thanks babe!

My laptop had bid me farewell, so posting could be a bit difficult for me right now. Hope to be back again with more updates!

Say hello to Josh.....

Some of you may remember that our mini Maltese Ares, ran away a year ago. Since then, hubby been pestered me relentlessly about getting a new dog and I, of course strongly objected the idea. Don't get me wrong, I love dog but the thought of cleaning, bathing, feeding and taking care of it (again) is too much and kind of intimidating. And I can't bear the feeling of losing another dog again. Every time hubby brought up the topic, my answer would always be "NO".....not until 3 months ago that I finally lost the battle and now I'm back to being a "mom" to a fur kid.

This is the only photo I have of him as I haven't got time to take more. Ain't he's cute?? (apparently, he loves sticking out his tongue and I'm glad I managed to capture this trademark of his)

Bye and I'll catch with up you soon!

Published cards

In order to maintain my blog, I decided that I should have at least one post a week and gradually increase as time goes by. I just hope to get back in the groove slowly rather than doing nothing about it. And with that said, I have a couple of published cards that I wanted to share here.

April 2011 issue....

May 2011 issue......

June 2011 issue.....

That's just about it. Have a great day ahead, my crafty friends!

Best Friends are the joy of life

Two weeks ago I told myself I would blog more frequent maybe two or three post a week, then last week I was gone again. Now I'm not even sure if I would able to keep up with creating, let alone blogging. I've been inactive in the creating department for a while.....occasionally managed to squeeze a card or two but that's it. Not more than that. I'm feeling really uninspired lately and although there are many things that I want to do but  it seems hard to start. I'm hopeful that time will help me get back the creative juice I once had and the inspirations to create again. I'm hopeful............

If you are a frequent visitor to my blog, I'm sure you will recognized this photo and will probably think that this girl has no other photo to scrap except this. Well, it's almost true. As a self-proclaimed procrastinator, developing photo is always the last thing on my mind. Hence, different layouts with same photo :) I created this layout almost two months ago for Crate Paper June Color Challenge. I didn't win but Tara Anderson featured mine and a few others as her favorite on the blog. You can check out the post here

Hope you have a fun creative day ahead! See you soon!

CASE STUDY Anniversary Blog hop

Case Study is turning ONE!! To celebrate, Case Study is having a month long celebration starting off with a blog hop and lots of fun prizes to be won! How fun! Before we get the party started, make sure that you hop from Barbara Anders blog. But if you are lost or didn't know where to start.....no worries. Just hop on over to Case Study Blog to start.

The super sweet and talented Iwona came up with the idea to CASE or be inspired by one of the DT member, be it past or present. All of the DT members are so talented and it was a tough choice to make. Finally, I found the one that truly inspires me. She's none other than the talented and a very dear friend, Amy Wanford! Ohh....did you know that she's one of the top 5 girls in the Paper Crafts Gallery Idol?? Super awesome!

This beautiful card of Amy was published in the May issue of CARDS. But I saw this card on her blog earlier and fell in love with it instantly! I knew this is the card to CASE.

Here's my version......inspired by Amy. I had not one but two banners. Instead of using ribbon, I punched out some hearts from pink polka dots paper to make my own heart banners.

Come and join in the celebrations and be sure to check out all the lovely inspirations. To continue with the hop, your next destination is Clare Buswell's blog. Happy hopping!!!!

Officially back

As the title says it all.....I am back! Back to crafting and back to my lil crafty corner :) I would like to say a MILLION THANKS to my dear friends who are kind enough to leave some sweet words on my previous post. It is comforting to know that you are thinking of me and for that, I am thankful.......as always :) I am leaving you with a card I made a while back. Obviously, I was in a 'shabby' mood when this card was made :)

Have a great day!

*cough*cough.....it's so dusty here.

Hello friends!

Time really do flies! My last post dated May 19th and it means I haven't blog for more than two months. Wow! I can't believe I neglected my blog for this long. But things are starting to get better and I just wanted to let you know (in case anyone still visit my poor neglected blog) that I am back into the groove and you'll be seeing more post from me soon. Maybe tomorrow....who knows :)

Take care my friends! Hugs!

Smidapaper Color Challenge

Hello friends! I am sorry that I have been gone for a quite a while. Am coping with some changes here and when things get back to its normal mode, I shall update my blog regularly. Please hang in there with me at the moment :)
Just a quick post to share with you a card I made for Smidapaper Color Challenge. These colors seem a little unusual for me because you know how much I love to work with pastel colors. But it was meant to be a challenge and so, I stayed out of my comfort zone and created a card with Crate Paper Portrait as well as Neighbourhood collection.

**Please forgive my picture quality because the lightning was very bad when it was taken.

Come and join us and stand a chance to win a RM50 voucher from Smidapaper. For more info, please visit Smidapaper blog :)

The mess on my desk

  • Can't stand the sight of my messy desk.....I need a bigger room!
  • Hubby is coming home next week after been away for almost 3 months :)
  • Craving for some scones with cream cheese. Yumm yumm!
  • I don't feel chatty today so I am keeping this post short and sweet. Hope you have a great day!

It's fun when you have something to post.......

  • Today's post title is the longest in my blog history, lol :)
  • As you can see, I am still experimenting with my camera. Still can't find the perfect lightning so I had to turn to Photoshop to make it look okay but still not very happy with it.
  • Coffee is a must to perk me up in the morning.
  • Been spending too much money on crafting and buy more than I need. But every time I see pretty stuff especially new arrivals, I can't resist buying them. I need help!
  • Still trying to post regularly.
  • I must have late night snack every day and I am not talking about bread, cookies or chips. Yesterday, I had instant noodle and bacon. And the night before I had fish & chips. Yeah, no kidding! Josie said I must have a big fat worm in my stomach. Gross!
  • I broke out my newly bought Portrait paper and buttons by Crate Paper. The buttons are so pretty and honestly I am reluctant to use them. But then I hoard enough buttons and I am letting this go.
  • Yes, I hand stitched on the card. And no, I am not giving this card away....lol :p

Sweet Card

Hello friends! This will be another super quick post as I am rushing out to watch a movie with my mother-in-law.   I managed to create 3 cards this morning and I am so happy about it. I lost my mojo quite a while and I am happy that I got it back today :) Everything else except the graph paper is from Crate Paper - Emma Shoppe collection. Hope you like it! Got to run!

What a great way to start my morning!

Hello friends! As I got home from work last night, something familiar caught my eye. When I saw it, I immediately knew what it was.......a notice from post office to collect my parcel! Woohoo!!! So I woke up early this morning, had breakfast with my in-laws and headed to the post office like a little girl going to the candy shop. I am all smiles :) There are three boxes for my published cards in Nov, Dec and Feb (wondering where's my Jan stuff). I am excited and thought of sharing a picture with you.

Being 30 is awesome!

Hello friends! Yay, I am back to regular posting. Let's see how long I can keep with that :) After yesterday's post, I thought it was more fun to post random thoughts and decided to do it for all my future post. With that said, here are my random thoughts of the day.
  • It's that time of the month again *not fun*
  • Had leftover birthday cake and coffee for breakfast.
  • Had a great dinner with my family last night. I finished everything on my plate and even had two cups of coffee.
  • Made a layout this morning :)
  • Love the song "Price Tag" by Jessie J. I can listen to it all day. In fact, I am listening to it while typing this :)
  • Yes, being 30 is awesome (in my humble opinion)

Being lazy....

Hello friends! I feel so lazy to write a full post today so I decided to write down my thoughts and feelings in point form. The easiest and quickest way to update my blog, don't you think? :)
  • Had fun experimenting with my "new" camera and trying to understand shutter, ISO, aperture......and so on. To all experts out there, if you have a tip or two for me I would truly appreciate it :)
  • Had bacon and coffee for breakfast while watching Korean series on TV.
  • Looking forward to dinner with my family tonight. An early birthday celebration for my father-in-law. He is the best father-in-law one could ever had.
  • Hoping to update my blog daily.
  • It is only 11:30am and I am already thinking of what to have for lunch, lol :)
  • Miss my hubby and my mom.
  • Desperate to create a layout but no photos.....*frustrated*
  • Watched Cougar Town yesterday and I am the biggest fans! Been watching it since their first airing and all the cast especially Courtney Cox are so awesomely hilarious! Who else love Cougar Town?
Ok, done with my thoughts. Now, I have a card to share.....

  • This card took me more than an hour to complete. But in the end, I love the result.
  • More Emma Shoppe paper.....can you tell? Lol.
  • Painted the chipboard frame by Maya Road with acrylic paint. Applied a thin layer of craft glue and sprinkled with lots of fine glitter by Martha Stewart.
  • Replaced the "O" with a rub-on heart by Pink Paislee.
Got to run! Hope to create something tonight and if I do, you will "see" me again tomorrow :) Have a great day, my lovely friends!

New toy and published cards.......

Just a week ago, I posted on my hubby's Facebook wall about me wanting a DSLR camera. He always discouraged me whenever I mentioned about getting a new camera. "Don't waste your money" was his usual response. So imagined my surprise when he posted on his wall that he agreed to buy one for me! It's actually a second hand camera that I bought from my bestie and it is still in good condition. So right now I have been busy playing with my 'new' toy and let's see how long it takes for me to master the basic skill of photography :)

Here are some of my published cards that I have yet to share on my crafty corner. January 2011 had a been a blessing month for me as three of my cards were picked for this issue and one of it made it to the cover.

The February issue.....

The March issue.....

Hope to see you very soon! Toodles!

Not a fan of gloomy weather........

Hello crafty friends! Happy Monday to you! The weather has been gloomy these days and I really miss the sunshine. I don't know about you but weather does affect my mood. Sunny day = happy & gloomy day = sad. Today, I am not too happy with the weather so I thought I would come here to post a card. It makes feel a little bit better :)

Remembered the layout I did for my bestie last week? I actually made a card to go with the layout but didn't take picture of it so my bestie took for me. I love how soft and shabby this card was. You can't see it clearly but I misted the cardstock and love the hint of shimmer on my card. I distressed the edges to make it look aged. I remembered how my friends used to ask me if I burn the paper with incense stick because that's what we used to do back in the school days, lol :) Ok, I have one last thing to say before I go...........Emma Shoppe, I LOVE YOU!!!!!

My BFF

Hello friends! I met my girl friends for dinner yesterday and we had a super great time. Great food, great view and great friends! My bestie celebrated her birthday early this month and I made her a layout using the new Emma Shop papers and stickers by Crate Paper. I hardly work with bold colors and floral patterns but somehow Emma Shop captured my heart. It's love at first sight :)

Home Sweet Home

Hello friends, this is going to be a very quick post but I wanted to share a card I made using the cutest collection by Crate Paper called 'Neighborhood'.

On this card, I combined the borders and phrase stickers as well as the accent cuts to create a scene. This card came pretty quickly and I am happy with the result. All materials are available at Smidapaper.

Hope you have a great day!
